I made a connection while I was reading, the text that helped me make that connection was, "I will be setting up a website where you can post letters on a computerized message board." My connection was that I post letters on a computerized message board, like I'm doing right now!
I used work-attack on the word luminous. I noticed it had the suffix ous and I know that means full of. So I used the text around it (the context clues) and found out that it meant
This is Lauren and while reading the end of chapter 12 I found a idiom and it said Calder felt partly responsible it had been his fault that his buddy had gotten in hot water.then while reading a little after the letter I got the thought of maybe it is Fred who kidnaped frog and now he has kidnaped tommy. Then when Petra had a idea that the painting was in dark wood is where the painting is I thought ms.sharpes house.but a little before that I thought maybe tommy was going to come back to his house.
While I was reading I saw an idiom that said: And now his buddy got in hot water because of it. Zack. I also predicted that Tommy disappeared because his phone line got disconnected. I made a connection to how Charles Fort was talking about vanishing into thin air and Calder's friend disappeared out of nowhere. I inferred that Petra is seeing the lady writing over and over again is because of the disappearances of people. Zack.
This is Jaden and I asked the question if Ms.Hussy is taking ideas from her 6th grade students. I know that when Ms.Hussy listed things on the board that were responses they had to answer and one of them was something that she herself was doing and what Calder and Petra were doing to solve the mystery. I also wondered if Petra's dad got the letter because she said that it could be a group that is helping the person who stole the painting
This is Melanie and while I was reading with the book clud aloud I inferred that mrs. Hussey is to over involved in the letter because after something happened like when every one got the letters mrs. Hussey would always make the class do something involving the letters.i also made a connection because in the book it said ms. Hussey went on to explain that this letter would have asked anonymously for their help. And on the blog we have to use the name anonymous.

I agree with zack. Chapter thirteen was odd and made methinks a lot. I felt like I was changing my predictions every paragraph. Do you think Petra and Calder think mrs. H is too involved or thy it's just a coincidence??? Will they add it to their book? Do you think ms. H is trying to tell the students she is involved without "telling" them bc the note said to not tell anyone? I liked the quote'"good people sometimes get caught in bad things." It's amazing how much power media gives to people. They make everything bigger than it may need to e. what do you think? Then, there were so many different letter locations.... Are many people involved? Also, why is mrs. Sharpe being so nice now?
